Legally Blonde 2 picks up the Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon) story two years after the original left off.
Elle is a successful lawyer planning the wedding of the year to Emmett (Luke Wilson).
She wants the mother of her dog Bruiser at the big day, but finds mom is a test animal at a research laboratory.
When Elle asks her lawyer buddies to help her get the pooch released she gets fired.
Not one to give up easily, Elle decides to have the animal testing laws changed and heads to Washington to work for Congresswoman Rudd (Sally Field).
She’s quickly dismissed as a bimbo blonde but soon wins everyone around to her way of thinking.
Unfortunately, just like the original, the script is as thin and flimsy as a cheap paper tissue.
The sheer energy and novelty of Witherspoon’s performance the first time around covered over the cracks, but the goodwill generated by her wears out long before the end of this offering.
