Donegal 3-14 Kildare 0-12
Rampant Donegal hit a second-half purple patch to kill off brave Kildare and claim their first ever All-Ireland ladies junior football title at Croke Park.
In a frantic 12-minute period after the break Donegal broke loose and buried Kildare with a rapid fire 2-5 that sealed the win in some style.
Poor Kildare hardly knew what hit them and looked to be in with a shout as they trailed by just 1-9 to 0-7 at the break and reduced the arrears to two points soon after the restart.
Sensing the fightback Donegal hit top gear with Maureen O'Donnell, 0-8 for the day, hitting the first of a spate of scores however.
Goals from Yvonne McMonagle and a fortuitous net bulger from Player of the Match Debbie Lee Fox that beat Kildare 'keeper Ellen Ryan at the far post put the gloss on an impressive win.
