Wigan cancel Cho contract

Wigan have cancelled the contract of South Korea midfielder Cho Won-hee by mutual consent.

Wigan have cancelled the contract of South Korea midfielder Cho Won-hee by mutual consent.

Cho arrived at the Latics from Suwon Bluewings in March 2009 and went on to make five Barclays Premier League appearances before being loaned back to the South Korean club for the past year.

However, due to a lack of international appearances during that period, the 27-year-old no longer qualifies for a UK visa and has therefore been unable to re-enter the United Kingdom.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez said: “We wish Won Hee all the best in the future, he was a wonderful character and a great professional who always gave his all for us.”
