Brendan Dillon was officially installed as the new Chairman of the eircom League at the Annual General Meeting of the League in Athlone today.

Acting Chairman for the past five weeks following the resignation of Michael Hyland, Mr Dillon was the only candidate standing for the position.

In his address following his elevation, former UCD man Dillon promised a committed effort to bringing about the many changes which the League has planned in order to continue its improvement.

“This is a very privileged moment for me and while it is difficult for me to pull away from my club, UCD, after more than 20 years, I would hope to build a more relevant culture for the league as we capitalise on the good work already taking place throughout the country”, he said.
