Interpol is sending a team to Iraq to search for pillaged antiquities.

Baghdad’s zoo was one of the sites devastated by looting. A convoy of trucks set out today from Kuwait with seven tons of meat, vegetables and dried food for the animals, whose keepers fled when the fighting broke out.

“The animals are starving right now,” said Abdulah Onalanzi, who helped organise the convoy. “I hope it will reach them as soon as possible.”
