Video: Explosions reported at US military facility in Japan

There are reports of explosions at a US military facility in Japan.

Footage has appeared on local TV showing flames coming from the site in Kanagawa.

So far, there have been no reports on injuries, or on what might have caused the incident.

Reuters have reported that the Pentagon could not yet confirm that the blast actually occurred on the base.

The U.S. military base that appears to have been affected by the explosions is in Sagamihara, a city in north-central Kanagawa Prefecture, which borders Tokyo. It is the third most populous city in the prefecture.

In a Japanese Broadcasting Corp report, local authorities said that the blasts occurred at the Sagami General Depot, a U.S. Army post which is used to store petroleum products and ammunition.
