Ayr's Monday card in doubt

Ayr’s meeting on Monday is subject to a 12pm inspection on Sunday afternoon.

Although conditions at the Scottish track were improving, overnight temperatures of minus 4C have nonetheless put the fixture in doubt.

“Temperatures were lower than forecast and we’re still slightly frozen at the crossing areas, which is causing concern,” said clerk of the course Emma Marley.

“Daytime temperatures should be around plus 3C, which gives us a chance, although the forecast for Sunday night isn’t positive.”
