Sharleen fumes over no Brits nomination for Texas

Texas lead singer Sharleen Spiteri has criticised the organisers of this years Brits.

Texas lead singer Sharleen Spiteri has criticised the organisers of this years Brits.

She is angry they have not included Texas in the nominations for this year's awards.

Sharleen says the band have been ignored ever since they started.

"The Brits people aren't at the top of my list to be honest," she told Worldpop.

"They haven't been great to us. We've been going as a band for 15 years and we haven't won one award.

"When I see the Spice Girls win an Outstanding Contribution award and Five picking up prizes then it's just a joke to me. "

Sharleen also revealed Texas have now finished writing the follow-up to their 1999 album The Hush.

The band are just about to start work on a soundtrack for an as-yet-unannounced British film.
