An Arabic journalist in Britain claims Osama bin Laden is alive, but was wounded in an attack on his Afghan base in December.

Abdel-Bari Atwan, editor of al-Quds al-Arabi magazine said al Qaida followers told him bin Laden will not appear on video again until his group attacks the US again.

Speaking to Sky News, Mr Atwan claimed Bin Laden "was wounded in the shoulder by shrapnel" but "is in good health now".

Mr Atwan says the injury was sustained during a US-led assault on bin Laden's headquarters in the Tora Bora mountains in eastern Afghanistan.
