A 50 foot high piece of lattice work from the north tower of the World Trade Centre will be taken down this weekend and saved for a possible memorial at the site.

The facade is the second large piece from the twin towers the city has saved. The towers were brought down by two hijacked commercial jetliners on September 11.

A piece of the facade of the south tower was removed several weeks ago, and also saved for a possible memorial.
