More than one in five pregnant women thinks Posh Spice Victoria Beckham is the best celebrity mum, a survey has found.
The 28-year-old mother-of-two topped the poll to beat Changing Rooms interior designer Anna Ryder Richardson – on 13% – and supermodel Kate Moss, who was the envy of only 7% of expectant mothers.
The survey was commissioned by detergent company Persil to investigate the skin care concerns of mothers-to-be and mothers of new-born children.
The study also showed that 35% of pregnant women admire celebrities, such as Victoria, who sport tight, midriff-baring tops during their pregnancy.
Other firm favourites in the pregnancy poll included tennis star Tim Henman’s wife Lucy and actress Catherine Zeta Jones, who is currently pregnant with her second child.
The survey also revealed most mothers-to-be fear their skin will be permanently damaged by their pregnancy.
Some 57% feared they would get varicose veins and a similar number were worried about stretch marks.
And, contrary to popular belief that women “glow” during pregnancy, more than two thirds of respondents believed their skin had in fact got worse, with around half experiencing itchy or dry skin.
