Coca Cola workers to march on company’s HQ
Coca Cola workers and their supporters are due to march on the company's headquarters in Dublin today as part of their ongoing campaign against the outsourcing of their jobs.
Coca Cola HBC Ireland is planning to lay off 130 workers as part of the cost-cutting measure.
Unions have condemned a decision by the firm to reject Labour Court proposals that the employees be offered a redundancy package in line with previous deals.
Today's march is due to leave Liberty Hall at midday and make its way to Coca Cola's headquarters on Baggot Street.
Coca Cola has responded by accusing SIPTU of engaging in an irresponsible and reckless campaign to damage the company.
The company says it has offered them a generous redundancy package that far exceeds current industry norms.
It claims the ongoing protests will only serve to jeopardise the livelihoods of the remaining employees.
