Third Captain America will be 'something different'

'Captain America 3' will be "different and exciting", according to film directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

The brothers have revealed that the follow up to 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' will "deliver something different, and exciting and challenging", as they prepare for filming with lead actor Chris Evans.

Talking to Entertainment Weekly, Joe explained: "That's what we're in the middle of on [Captain America 3] right now, pushing really hard to make sure that what we deliver is something that's going to be different from 'The Winter Soldier'."

However, the directors - who have also worked on the television show 'Arrested Development'- did note that the third film in the Captain America series will be much more similar to the second movie than the first film, 'Captain America: The First Avenger', which was directed by Joe Johnston.

Joe Russo shared: "We're more grounded in the world of 'Winter Soldier' than 'Winter Soldier' was grounded in 'First Avenger'. The difference between 'First Avenger' and 'Winter Soldier' is that 70 years had elapsed between the two movies."

He added: "We don't have that same time elapsed here. It's the world Cap woke up in still, even though it's several years later and some other significant events have happened. At the same time, we are pushing Cap to a place he hasn't been before."

'Captain America 3' is scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.
