Fireworks on the cards for feuding Corrie duo

‘Coronation Street’s Peter Barlow is set to clash with Nick Tilsley in series of bust-ups.

‘Coronation Street’s Peter Barlow is set to clash with Nick Tilsley in series of bust-ups.

The recovering alcoholic is due to fight with the suave businessman on several occasions as producers want their feud to mimic the legendary rivalry between Peter’s dad Ken Barlow and the late Mike Baldwin.

The pair’s first clash takes place when Peter (Chris Gascoyne) sees his fiancee Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) talking to Nick (Ben Price) in the Rovers Return and assumes they are having a sordid affair.

Bookmaker Peter drags Nick – who used to be married to Leanne - out from the pub and punches him in the face when he refuses to back down.

Rovers Return barman Ciaran McCarthy (Keith Duffy) eventually pulls the pair apart but the peace doesn’t last long because the ITV1 soap’s new producer Phil Collinson is planning a string of bust-ups between the pair and their families

Peter’s stepmother Deidre Barlow is set to have a catfight with Nick’s mum Gail McIntyre, when Gail discovers Deirdre has been seeing her mum Audrey’s lover Lewis Archer.

Gail (Helen Worth) and Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) have to be dragged off the floor by Deidre’s furious husband Ken.
