Coldplay 'will be back' at Glastonbury

Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis said today he expects Coldplay to return as headliners to the festival next year.

Glastonbury organiser Michael Eavis said today he expects Coldplay to return as headliners to the festival next year.

The band last topped the bill at the festival when they played in 2005.

But, speaking on BBC radio station 6 Music today, Eavis predicted they would be back for 2011.

“They’ve played four or five times already but they’ll be back next year, I’m sure,” he said as presenter Lauren Laverne hosted her show live from Worthy Farm in Pilton, the site of the festival.

This year’s headliners include Stevie Wonder, Muse and U2.

Another Glastonbury veteran Rolf Harris was added to the bill for the 2010 event this week, his sixth appearance at the festival.
