Allergic reaction forces Fox out of Chinese movie premiere

Megan Fox was forced to miss the Beijing premiere of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' after being stricken by an allergic reaction.

The 28-year-old beauty - who plays April O'Neil in the new movie - had joined co-star William Fichtner, producers Brad Fuller and Andrew Form and Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore at a press conference early on Sunday but was absent from the premiere later that day, prompting speculation she had suffered a reaction to the heavy pollution in China.

However, her spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter: "She had an allergic reaction but not because of the pollution."

On Sunday, the air quality in the city was more than 20 times higher than the recommendation for 24-hour exposure by the World Health Organisation.

Megan recently admitted she hopes appearing in the movie will impress Noah, two, and Bodhi, seven months - her kids with husband Brian Austin Green - when they grow up.

She explained: "I wanted to do this movie because I was a fan as a kid, obviously, but also I wanted to do it because I think I anticipate that my sons will be like, 'My mom is April O'Neil!'

"I'm sure that won't happen, because no matter what I do for work, I'm still always just their mom and I'm never gonna be cool.

"But I hope that like, maybe when they're 25, they'll look back and be like, 'That was pretty rad,' because you know, if my dad had been in 'Point Break,' I would be like, 'That's amazing!'"
