This photo has been doing the rounds online for the last couple of days. It might look like a photo of a small, dead fish washed up on the shore until you notice what's crowded around it.
Yes, those are grizzly bears.
And that's actually a whale they're feasting on.
The picture was taken in Alaska by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and show one of the 30 whales that have washed up on the coast since May.
In a press release, they reported that "11 fin whales, 14 humpback whales, one grey whale, and four unidentified cetaceans" have become stranded on islands or found dead in the Gulf of Alaska and that they are "very concerned" about what they call "an unusual mortality event".
They plan to carry out a scientific investigation to try and ascertain the cause which could take several months.
So while it was a good day to be a grizzly bear - especially pre-hibernation - it spells trouble for the whales in the area.
