Willie, who is actually from Crettyard in Laois but was down in Carlow to visit the mart, was interviewed about the recent IFA controversy but stole the show with the unusual choice of headgear.
Eimear Ní Bhraonáin from local radio station KCLR Live managed to track him down and found he wasn't at all impressed with the fuss the hat caused and has thrown it in the fire.

And there are clearly no flies on Willie as he took the opportunity to get a plug for the museum that he runs out of his house and invited the station to come out and have a look around.
“We have butter churns, old bicycles and all sorts,” he said.
