General Martin Dempsey, an Irish-American member of the US military bowed out in style recently.
General Dempsey, who has family hailing from Donegal, had been Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff - the highest-ranking military officer in the US Armed Forces.
At his retirement ceremony, after 41 years of military service, General Dempsey led a powerful rendition of the Parting Glass.
It is a heartfelt moment and as the band continues he joins his family before one last salute.
President Obama also spoke at the ceremony to thank General Dempsey for his service.
