VIDEO: Hero monkey rescues unconscious friend

This monkey is the internet's new hero after a video emerged online over the weekend that seemingly shows him saving the life of fellow primate who was injured on railway lines in India.

The monkey received an electric shock as it walked along electrical wires and fell unconscious onto the tracks below.

Watched by commuters at the busy Kanpur train station, the footage shows another primate coming to his rescue - apparently trying to revive the unconscious money by shaking, biting, hitting and repeatedly dunking him in some water.

It's not the most gentle of recusitation techniques but it seems to work.

He eventually comes to, wet and looking a little worse for wear but awake - and his friend stays with him until they are both able to walk away.
