A beautiful piece of animation has attracted some attention after it appeared as a backdrop for the Angelus this evening.
On Fridays, RTE accepts submissions from the public to provide the visual backdrop for the Angelus.
And we were seriously impressed by today's.
A little....something...made out of what looks like cloth and tree bark (stay with us) is bereft when the feather (s)he is playing with is snatched away by the wind, and floats up out of reach.
An older being - something like an ent - catches the feather, returns it to the little one and saves the day.
Reaction has been a little nonplussed. It's certainly a bit of a departure from the usual Angelus fare, but we're enthusiastic. You?
I wasn't taking any drugs with my tea this evening but I definitely seen moving tree people on the #angelus #rte pic.twitter.com/5M8BLRoUtO

Why is the Angelus tree people/ents instead of Irish people looking into the distance?

I know I was away for a week, but what was that Angelus?

We'd love to know who's behind this piece of work, and have a query in with RTE. Let us know if you know!
