This is one epic road trip - and all for a very good cause.

These three lads are driving from Nenagh to Beijing for their mate’s wedding

Three Irish lads are planning the road trip of a lifetime for one very good reason - to turn up at their friend’s wedding in China.

James Costello, Brian Gleeson and Willie Gleeson are travelling from Nenagh in Tipp all the way to Beijing in one hopefully reliable car and they plan to make regular video updates along the way.

Two of the lads are groomsmen at their childhood friend’s Alan Ho’s wedding to Sophie on September 5th while Willie is mysteriously referred to as the ‘wildcard’.

Their journey will take them through Europe into Turkey, then Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, into Russia, Mongolia and then finally China.

That’s 13,000 kilometres.

Once (if?) they get to China in one piece, they then have to go the wedding - after they’ve sold the car.

But they’re not only doing it for the experience and the craic, they’re also going to try and raise funds for the Laura Lynn charity, which provides palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.

You can find out more about their fundraising efforts on their Facebook page here.

The adventure begins nine weeks before the wedding.

We can’t wait to see how this one goes, guys.
