Humans of New York is one of the most popular photo projects the internet has ever seen. The premise is simple: take a photo of strangers in one of the biggest cities on Earth, and tell their story. It's hugely popular, widely known, and produces incredible photos.
So, with a famous photographer running around the city to put people's photos in front of millions, what's a prankster to do?
Pretend to be him, obviously.
Prankster Tyler Fischer did just that, delighting and flattering citizens - while being completely ridiculous.
And then he meets the director of Photojournalism at Columbia university (which is where the Pulitzer Prize in journalism comes from). Whoops.
The real man behind HONY, Brandon, saw the funny side. "In case any of you had a strange conversation with 'me' lately ... don't feel bad if you got tricked, not a bad impression, actually!" he wrote.
