Morrissey: Beyonce's handbags are making rhinos extinct
"The rhino is now more or less extinct, and it's not because of global warming or shrinking habitats. It's because of Beyonce's handbags."
That’s what former Smiths frontman Morrissey had to say to the crowd at a recent gig at Los Angeles Staples Center.
Does he have a point? Beyonce didn’t exactly make any friends among animal right activists with her performance at the Super Bowl half-time show, sporting a bodysuit made from python, iguana and cow skin.
She’s also known for wearing custom-designed sneakers made from crocodile and anaconda skins, stingray, ostrich and calf hair.
"These custom-made kicks come with a high price and it's paid by the various animals who were beaten and skinned alive or cruelly farmed and killed,” said animal rights group PETA, who we can assume have not exactly been on her Christmas card list ever since they cornered her with questions about the use of fur in her clothing line.
