It's cold in Minnesota this time of year. Really, really cold.
So, when a Rochester local called up the local news station about a deer she'd spotted stranded on a frozen lake, things looked pretty bleak.
The poor animal had been stranded on the ice for two days, exposed to the elements, and couldn't stand on the ice any longer.
So a local hovercraft company decided to head to the rescue – and discovered not one, but three near-frozen animals.
MedCity Hovercraft runs ice fishing trips out on the lake in their hovercraft, ferrying fishermen out to the centre. As you can see in the video, it's a wide open space with nothing to grab onto, leaving the deer scrambling for purchase.

[comment]You can see a distraction-free version of the rescue at shore for a better idea at how difficult managing the animals was here (may not work on mobile devices):[/comment]
Hats off to the good Samaritans. Warms the heart, so it does.
