An Australian man has put himself on a potato-only diet in a bid to stop binge eating.
Andrew Flinders Taylor, who is 36 and from Melbourne, committed himself to 366 days of potatoes for his 'Spud Fit' project at the start of the year.
He's made a pretty good start by losing 10kg (1st, 5lbs) already, without taking any extra exercise.
He has declared 2016 the “year of the spud” and said that “the bulk 99%" of his calories will be coming from potatoes, with seasonings and sauce providing the rest.
There will be no oil in his meals and he won't be checking his calorie intake either, instead he will eat each meal until he is not hungry any more.
Before he started his diet, Andrew said: "The last couple of years I’ve not been anywhere near as fit and active as I’d like to be…I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been, which is 151.7kg (23 st, 8lbs)… So I’m not happy about that."
“When you’ve got an addiction, let’s say a drug addiction or an alcohol addiction, the best thing you can do is stop taking drugs or stop taking alcohol.
“Unfortunately you can’t do that with food, you gotta eat. So I thought what else can I do? Perhaps I can choose one kind of food and just stick with it.
“So I decided on the potato. Lots of people in the past have lived on nothing but potatoes."
In his latest video posted onto his YouTube channel, Andrew talks about how his story has gone viral.
Good luck Andrew!
