Earlier this week a TV freelancer in the UK called Chris Dodd spotted this poster encouraging Sainsbury's staff to get shoppers to spend an extra 50p each time they visit.
.@sainsburys not sure this is supposed to be in your window... pic.twitter.com/Zk9GCliIWO

A fella called Ross was manning the retailer's twitter feed at the time and asked Chris where it was.
@mynameischrisd Yeah, I don't think so either. Which store was this? I'll give them a call. Ross.

However, Chris played hard ball.
@sainsburys oh I'm not sure about that Ross... I kinda like that they're giving folks a heads up!

You can sense Ross's panic when he realises Chris is going to let the public know about it.
@mynameischrisd This is clearly a poster meant for staff areas. I'd really like to make sure it gets to where it should be. Ross.

It forced Sainsbury’s to release a statement: “We often use posters to make store targets fun and achievable for our colleagues.
“They are intended for colleague areas in the store, but this one was mistakenly put on public display.”
You can imagine the reaction, but the best came from Lidl today telling their workers to help customers
50p on their shopping trips.Anything from the other supermarkets?
