It’s Good News Friday - where you share what made you happy today

January is usually a bit of a dreary month so we could all do with some cheering up. So, we asked you to share your Good News with us - what’s brightening up your day.

And, as a reward, we'll give you a bit of a treat.

Here are some of our favourites.

Paula Brennan is happy because she lost an amazing 7lbs this week which is ,as she says. a “good start to new year”.

And Lynn Kierans is chuffed that she’s getting her braces off on Monday - it’s been over two years. She wrotes: “Hollywood smile here I come”.

Meanwhile Sue Melia is thankful for the simple pleasure of “being happy safe and warm at home enjoying a cup of coffee in peace while my son has a nap”.

As is Nicola Dolan who is at home on her day off “sitting with my feet up & a nice cuppa in my hand, by the fire listening to the rain outside”.

And dogs are bringing happiness to people today. Linda Stanley is relieved that her dog has come home:

“My dog was missing for 1 week,we got him back this morning,so super happy”. That’s excellent news.

Lisa Ann Kelly is thankful for her Labrador cross, Faith and “the amazing welcome she gives me everyday! It's like she's thankful for me rescuing her and giving her a life of so much love! But it's the opposite I'm so thankful to her for making me so happy, not just today, but every single day”

That’s so sweet, Lisa!

It sounds like Sarah Dowdall had a very fun Friday. She spent it finger-painting with her granddaughter. Lovely!

Declan O'Neill writes: “3 month old little boy got to sleep in his own bed last night after nearly a week in hospital. Happy that all is well again”. That’s wonderful, Declan.

And Tracey Byrne’s little one is home from hospital too:

“Chilling with my little girl after spending half the night in Our Ladys hospital with her, she caught her finger in car door, thankfully not broken”.

And Michelle Hickey is “heading out for forest walk with other half, bit of rain won't stop us, then we collect our chappy, our most precious diamond in the world from school. Feeling grateful.” Enjoy!

Now, don't we all feel a little happier?

Without further ado, our winners are Declan O'Neill, Lisa Ann Kelly, Lynn Kierans, Paula Brennan and Linda Stanley.

Congrats! And don’t forget to email ciara.flaherty@breakingnews.ie to claim your prizes.
