Want a gang of screaming fans and paparazzi following you around for a day? No? Well it seems that some people will to pay thousands for the privilege.

Crowds on Demand is the brainchild of Adam Swart, who offers a range of “lifestyle experiences” from the $2,999 “Celebrity Fan Experience” to a whopping $9,999 for a “Rally For You”.

Perhaps more worryingly, they can even summon actors to “protest outside opposition events”.

So who follows you around? Out-of-work actors “most of whom have appeared on television shows and feature films”, and presumably wish they were still doing it instead of this.

Pay the $8,999 and they will follow you around the stores for a while as “other shoppers will attempt to discern your identity as you revel in opulence”, the website states.

The top $9,999 package allows you to “bask in your own greatness as hundreds of people chant your name through the streets in the ultimate self-promotion event.

“No request is too extreme for us to honour with this package.”

If this all seems faintly ridiculous, look at the fun this guy had with the concept in one of the best YouTube pranks ever.
