Footage of customer smashing £5k worth of flat TVs sparks cries of 'Fake!'

Is it just a nice bit of publicity for the shop?

Footage of customer smashing £5k worth of flat TVs sparks cries of 'Fake!'

A video posted by a shop in England has sparked a debate about its validity.

The clip, tweeted by HBH Woolacotts, shows a customer "accidentally" knocking over four brand new flat-screen televisions.

The electronics outlet in Cornwall said one of the televisions was a curved OLED and the man had caused around £5,000 worth of damage.

An assistant manager at the shop in St Austell, Mike Collins, told westbriton.co.uk: "Staff were devastated when it happened - I had been on a day off but came back and watched the footage.

"My manager just said 'you will never guess what has happened'. I was very shocked."

However, since it was posted, people have been suggesting that it was staged somehow. Judge for yourself.

One commenter said it was a set up, pointing out that the screens are "set up like dominoes" and the man "can be seen actually pushing the screen with his left hand".

The positioning of the TVs in the middle of the floor was also questioned, "how are they powered and cabled for people to view?".

If it is fake, and we're not saying it is, then their marketing department should get a round of applause.

What do you think?
