Dublin girl saves her sheep with Facebook petition

A Dublin girl, Orlaith O Scanaill, has saved her sheep Ernie from the dinner table.

Orlaith put up an emotional Facebook post a couple of days ago saying that her dad didn't consider Ernie "as a family member but as a family dinner".

But as you can see from Oralith's photos of him, Ernie "isn't just a sheep, he is an icon of hope and faith for the future generation of sheep".

Indeed..

According to Orlaith, her sheep "has been an inspiration for people on my snapchat and has changed the lives of the people who were lucky enough to meet him in person."

He's such an inspiration that Orlaith got Facebook likes from far-off places like England, America, New Zealand, Central America, Canada and even Co Meath.

And of course she got support from Wales...

"I honestly don't know how I'm going to wake up in the morning without seeing him out the window looking up at me."

Look at him, would you blame her?

Thankfully, it was a success, as she got more than twice the amount of Facebook Likes she needed to persuade her dad not to turn him into a Sunday roast.

Now the neighbourhood dogs will continue to have a sheep beside them chasing the other sheep around, so says Orlaith.

Here's her Facebook post that set it all off.
