A Russian man is the internet's new favourite person after stopping to rescuing a kitten trapped on a busy road.
The heartstopping CCTV footage, which has gone viral, shows the kitten appearing on the motorway near Kalingrad, either having fallen or been tossed from a passing car.
For four minutes the kitten cowers on the road as cars and lorries whiz past. Somewhat miraculously, it avoids being hit.
Eventually, one car stops, putting their hazard lights on. The driver gets out and doesn't hesitate to take the little cat to safety.
A Russian newspaper tracked down the driver, Denis Degtyarev, who lives in Kalingrad.
"He was so helpless that I could not pass by," said Degtyarev.
The kitten is said to be so young it could not feed itself, but Degtyarev took care of it with the help of friends and found it a home.
