Just wow.

Check out this retired farmer's incredible tribute to Prince

Retired farmer Gene Hanson is a massive Prince fan and following the musician’s death on April 21 he felt the need to create a fitting tribute to his idol.

The 75-year-old North Dakota resident clearly has a talent in this field (excuse the pun), having previously ploughed perfectly written messages like ‘Happy Mother’s Day’ and ‘Happy Easter’ into his fields.

After Prince’s death on April 21, the farmer – who loves the song Purple Rain - downloaded a picture of his symbol online and went to work on ploughing into one of his massive corn fields last week.

What makes his tribute even more impressive is the fact that, while responding to questions on his picture post of the symbol on his Facebook page, Gene admitted he didn’t use GPS to make it.

Speaking to Buzzfeed Gene said the tribute took about 45 minutes to complete and afterwards he went up to check on it in his plane.

“It wasn’t the most complicated. It worked out on the first try,” said the farmer.

Unfortunately, the tribute will be gone in a few days as the farmer who rents the field from Gene is set to plant corn seeds today.
