A bank customer was pretty surprised - and fairly insulted - to hear this voice mail left on his phone by a bank official.
Nathan Eames received a call from a business team manager at Natwest to discuss a customer service survey he had taken part in.
The unnamed manager starts off by leaving a polite, professional message asking him to call her back but after she thought she'd hung up, she began joking with her colleagues and mocking him - calling him a 'knob' and laughing at his loan application.
Oh dear.
A spokesman for Natwest has since apologised to the Mr. Eames:
"We apologise unreservedly to Mr Eames. This is not the behaviour we expect from our people and we are currently investigating this incident, dealing directly with the members of staff involved.’
While it is unknown if the manager in question is still employed there, at least it's a solid reminder to everyone else to make sure you've hung up the phone before you start talking about people behind their back!
