Baby boy for 'Voice of Ireland' star Kelly

The 'Voice of Ireland' runner-up Kelly McDonagh Mongan had reason to celebrate this weekend as she and husband Bernard welcomed a baby boy into the world.

Kelly, who was nearly two weeks overdue, gave birth to son Michael Bernard Mongan in Cork University Hospital on Friday night.

The little buster weighed 9lbs 8oz, for those of you who need to know these things.

It's the culmination of a rollercoaster few months for Kelly, who sang her way to the "Voice of Ireland" final with the help of mentor Kian Egan, despite being heavily pregnant.

She was beaten to the title by fellow Cork singer Keith Hanley.

"I am blessed to have my beautiful baby, my loving husband bernie and familey, my Mother who i would be lost without and all of ye who helped me get where i did and all my sopporters who where behind me all the way."
