Zamano is partnering with RTE to launch a new SMS-based quiz game called Showdown.

At lunch time every Friday, audiences can join in what Zamano claims is destined to become largest mass audience quiz game at the cost of 30c per text received.

Audiences will be allowed to progress to the next round based on correct answers to the questions in the specified amount of time and can win prizes sponsored by Sony and DVDRentals.ie.

Showdown is not the first of such endeavors for Zamano. The company partnered with O2 to launch a trivia football game during the Worldcup in June.

Dublin company Zamano is a provider of mobile applications to European wireless network operators and corporates. The Zamano product suite supports applications across all mobile technologies: SMS, WAP, GPRS and 3G.
