TV3 is celebrating its highest ratings ever after nearly 1.4 million people watched the Ireland v Italy match.
1.38 million people tuned in to watch Ireland beat Italy to book a place in the quarter finals. The game had an average of 956,600 viewers on TV3 and peaked at 1.18 million.
Across pre-match, match, post-match and highlights of Ireland v Italy on TV3, 1.59 million viewers tuned in.
So far, TV3's Rugby World Cup coverage has reached more than three million viewers, almost three quarters of the total potential TV audience.
Saturday’s England v Australia game also hit a ratings high, reaching 1.12 million viewers. The match commanded a 685,800 average with a 42% Adults share, and peaked at 802,300 viewers.
Rugby World Cup 2015 coverage continues tomorrow (Tuesday, October 6) at 4.30pm on TV3, as Canada takes on Romania in Pool D, followed by Pool A’s Fiji v Uruguay game at 7.30pm.
