Ryanair traffic up 12% in August
Ryanair today said it flew 7.68m passengers in August, up 12% from the 6.88m passengers for the same month last year.
Load factor for the month - the number of passengers as a percentage of the number of seats available - was 89%, a 1% decrease on August 2009.
The latest figures bring to 70.9m the number of passengers to have flown with Ryanair for the 12 months to August 2010.
However this includes up to 1.45m passengers who were booked to fly on flights which were cancelled due to the closures of parts of EU airspace following the volcanic eruptions in Iceland.
Meanwhile Easyjet said it carried 5.20m passengers last month – an increase of 8.4% on August last year.
EasyJet’s aircraft were 92.3% full in August 2010 compared with 91.8% in August 2009.
