Dixons says 15 stores are likely to close here as a result of its merger with Carphone Warehouse.
Their parent company also owns Currys and PC World and is combining them all under one roof in various locations here and in the UK, in a €65m investment.
There are currently 115 of the group's stores in Ireland and a spokesman says 15 will shut as part of the amalgamation.
However, they also say there will be no redundancies and staff will be redeployed to the new superstores.
