Dublin industrial rents increase for first time in six years

Industrial market rents in the Dublin area have increased for the first time in six years.

A report carried out by CBRE for the second quarter of this year shows that over 61,000 square metres of industrial accommodation was leased or sold – over two and a half times greater than that signed in the three months previous.

On the back of its findings CBRE said prime industrial rents have now increased to €62 per square metre.

"Really, this is on the back of a lack of supply of the prime product that modern occupiers are now looking for," said Suzanne Barrett, associate director of research at CBRE.

"We're finding take-up is staying steady, but demand is increasing, and really, occupiers are finding it hard to find the suitable, large properties that they need."
