Planning permission has been granted for a €100m upgrade of Cork's Ringaskiddy Harbour.
The development is designed to be an extension of current facilities in the lower harbour and will allow the harbour to accommodate larger vessels.
98% of goods imported or exported from Ireland are moved by ship, amounting to more than €14bn annually in Cork alone.
