A British student has landed a £20,000-a-year job as a water slide tester.

A British student has landed a £20,000-a-year job as a water slide tester.

Sebastian Smith beat off competition from more than 2,000 applicants to win a six-month contract with First Choice holidays for the so-called "best job in the world", which will see the 22 year old travel the world trying out various chutes at 20 SplashWorld resorts.

The Leeds University student has described the position as his "dream" occupation.

According to the job description, the lucky candidate needs to rate the slides on two main criteria - "adrenaline factor" and "biggest splash".
