US special forces are planning secret missions in Afghanistan to capture hundreds of Osama bin Laden’s followers, according to a New York newspaper.
The newspaper reports that soldiers will raid the mountains of Afghanistan, where thousands of Afghan fighters are reportedly preparing for their holy war against the Americans.
The special forces will use a hi-tech network of satellites to find their targets.
The prospects of such a mission are uncertain, however, as the Afghans have proven in the past that they are willing to fight to the death against anyone who invades their country.
Afghanistan’s mountainous terrain will also be an advantage to the Afghans, who have previously defeated two invading British armies and the Soviet Red Army.
