At least eight people died when their executive jet crashed on the approach to an airport in Minnesota.

Severe weather had been moving through the area earlier yesterday, but witnesses said the storms were subsiding at the time of the crash.

The chartered Raytheon Hawker 800, flying from Atlantic City, New Jersey, to Owatonna went down in a cornfield near Degner Regional Airport.

The debris was scattered 150 meters beyond the airport’s runway.
