Spanish police arrested six alleged Basque terrorists todat as raids continued on suspected hide-outs of the outlawed separatist group Eta.

The raids targeted four locations in the greater Barcelona area and netted a large quantity of weapons, armaments and 440 pounds of explosives.

One of those arrested was Fernando Garcia Jodra, suspected in the assassination of former Health Minister Ernest Lluch.

Lluch was gunned down last November as he stepped out of his car in Barcelona.

Eta, an acronym for Basque Homeland and Freedom, has been blamed for 35 killings since ending its unilateral 14 month cease-fire in January 2000.

The group has killed some 800 people in shootings and bombings since launching its armed struggle for independence in 1968.
