Missing dancer found after appeal from Rihanna

A dancer who went missing has been found after Rihanna made an emotional appeal for information.

Shirlene Quigley, from New Jersey, has performed with Rihanna, as well as Missy Elliott, who had also urged people to help the police search, and Beyonce.

Officer Alex Vazquez of North Bergen police said that Ms Quigley had been found and her family was en route to see her at an undisclosed location.

Missy Elliott said on her Twitter account that Ms Quigley was "safe & being treated".

Police say Ms Quigley's landlord saw the 32-year-old on Saturday afternoon leaving her North Bergen Township home.

Another person reported seeing her near the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan early on Sunday. Her car and mobile phone were found by New York City police.

Rihanna had earlier posted an emotional plea online for information about the whereabouts of the dancer.

She posted a video of Ms Quigley on Instagram, and said: "This beautiful soul, and former dancer of mine is MISSING!!! My heart aches thinking of how heavy this is on all who love her!"

Ms Quigley's father told WNBC-TV she left a message with a friend that stated: "Get ready, it's about to happen and I'm going to need you to sub for me."

In a video also posted by Rihanna, Ms Quigley speaks about treating people as family.

"Imagine if we treated each other like we all really came from the same family," she says.

"I know people probably think I'm crazy because I'm always telling everyone 'I love you! I love you!' Because the minute that I meet somebody I do love them because I know in my heart and in my spirit that that's my brother and my sister, that's my neighbour."
