Mexico's president says he is ready to work with US President-elect Donald Trump to advance the neighbours' relationship.
President Enrique Pena Nieto said in a series of messages from his official Twitter account that the two countries are friends, partners and allies that must continue cooperating for the development of North America.
Felicito a EUA por su proceso electoral y le reitero a @realDonaldTrump la disposición de trabajar juntos en favor de la relación bilateral.

A short time earlier, Mexico's Treasury Secretary Jose Antonio Meade tried to strike a reassuring tone by saying that Mexico's financial position is strong in the face of a falling peso.
He said no immediate actions are planned.
But in the streets, Mexicans were concerned about how many of Mr Trump's promises to deport millions of immigrants, revamp trade relations and make Mexico pay for a border wall would come to fruition.
