American student Amanda Knox has been indicted on slander charges over her claims she was beaten by police when questioned in 2007 about her flatmate’s murder.
The judge made the decision after a closed-door hearing in Perugia on today.
Knox’s lawyer said the 23-year-old told the judge that she did not mean to slander anybody and was trying to defend herself.
She is serving a 26-year prison term after being convicted of the murder of British student Meredith Kercher.
