Israelis and Palestinians have reached a deal on Gaza border crossings, a European official said today, following overnight negotiations brokered by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Israelis and Palestinians have reached a deal on Gaza border crossings, a European official said today, following overnight negotiations brokered by US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

“There is a deal, yes,” said an official close to Javier Solana, the EU’s foreign policy chief.

Rice tentatively scheduled a news conference for mid-morning today at a Jerusalem hotel where the negotiations were being held.
