Horsemeat crisis spreads to Asia

The horsemeat crisis has now spread to Asia where an imported lasagne brand has been pulled from shelves in Hong Kong.

Authorities there have ordered one of the biggest supermarket chains in the city, Park'n'Shop, to remove the lasagne, made by frozen food giant Findus.

The product was imported from Britain and made by French firm Comigel.

A spokeswoman at the government's food and environmental hygiene department said only one contaminated product had so far been sold in Hong Kong.

It comes as Czech officials have ordered similar action on frozen meals mis-labelled "beef".
